AI for Business Workshop: closing the AI skills gapIt's hard to believe that ChatGPT was publicly launched just over a year ago (November 2022).For businesses there is a growing opportunity to use AI to save time, optimise workflows and deliver better value for internal and external customers."According to the McKinsey Global Survey, [in 2023] one-third of organizations are regularly using generative AI (gen AI) in at least one business function." [1]According to Boston Consulting Group, "[t]he immediate productivity gains [from generative AI] can greatly reduce costs. For example, generative AI can summarize documents in a matter of seconds with impressive accuracy, whereas a researcher might spend hours on the task." [2]However, there is a growing AI skills gap: according to Gartner, “IT executives see the talent shortage as the most significant adoption barrier to 64% of emerging technologies, compared with just 4% in 2020” [3]To help close the AI skills gap, I'm excited to introduce a talk and workshop I've put together for corporate teams sharing a comprehensive set of resources and facilitating practical exercises to help teams apply AI.It starts with a short talk to set the stage and then it is hands-on with a highly interactive workshop, that, by the way, does not assume previous knowledge of AI tools.Inspired in a talk I gave to 500+ software engineers at the WeAreDevelopers World Congress in Berlin (July) and previous workshops earlier this year, the AI for Business Workshop is designed to help corporate teams get the most out of AI.In the era of AI, it is not only about adapting to exponential change, but embracing it.I'll be delighted to contribute to your AI innovation journey.

16 September 2024Victor is a tremendous speaker, with novel insights and a wonderful way of connecting to the audience. He came to Workhuman and taught a course for 5 days to a group of executives and directors. The course focused on AI and GenAI in particular. The audience was a demanding group, but Victor did a magnificent job, balancing insights, deep expertise and novelty. It's fair to say that none of us were the same when we left the room.He did such a great job that we asked Victor to come back and give the keynote at our GenAI hackathon. This keynote was delivered to the whole company. It was a big hit and opened people’s eyes at all levels to what can be achieved with GenAI.I would recommend Victor for any public speaking or teaching consultations in AI. We certainly hope to work with Victor again in the future.
